McLaren Vale, SA
Mitch and I have just returned from a beautiful country-side weekend in McLaren Vale, South Australia. We had originally gone for a 60th birthday, but had also set aside a day to go for a bike wine tour. The bike wine tour included Mitch and myself and absolutely no helmets. No grapes were harmed in the making of our bike tour as they were already squeezed and bottled on arrival. And it is to our amazement that we arrived back to home-base safely. Kids, do not try this at home unless you live in McLaren Vale.
On our bike wine tour we visited and purchased:
- Maxwell Wines - a bottle of Little Demon Verdelho. I prefer slightly sweet white wines and this was honestly the best I've ever tried!
- Hardy's Tintara Cellar Door - a bottle of Rare Liqueur Sauvignon Blanc which is so different to what I've tried before and is perfect as a dessert drink. This one is being saved for a special occasion :)
- A really beautiful cafe that sold the most delicious gluten free treats (pictured above, I can't remember the name) - we also rode around the property surrounding it (there were bike tracks) and came across a few secret vineyards.
We took some snaps along the way - I could definitely retire here we thought throughout the whole trip!
